What is the paradigm of the new age?

This question can obviously be considered from many different angles. For example, it can be said that there is a new paradigm in how to conduct business successfully, how to use energy sources, etc. However, for our purposes here, we will look at the new paradigm of how people will look at life in a fundamental way, on themselves, and on their own purpose of existence.

Truly, one can not talk about a new age unless there is a major shift in how life is seen and understood. Even if there has been a tremendous evolution of knowledge and skills throughout human history, and especially in modern times, with the emergence of industrialization and now the information age, there has still been the pervading view of humans as material beings, and the material side of life, as being the most significant. The inborn desire in all humans to seek a higher purpose in life, than just the material existence, has manifested as religions and faiths throughout history. However, religion has, in many cases, not been a useful way or means for people to become aware of, and develop their spiritual nature. It takes an evolution of consciousness for this to happen.

Humans have now reached a critical point on this planet, where more and more are becoming aware of their spiritual nature, or rather, their nature as spiritual beings. This is the paradigm of the new age. The consequences of this new paradigm are many, in terms of what this nature might consist of, and if there is a reality beyond the material dimension. For the purpose of this website, we will not go into details about this, because many are not interested in, or ready to deal with these questions.

This site is about how we can help children and youth spiritually, in school as well as at home. In school we can consider the emergence of a new paradigm, in terms of New Age education, where the spiritual aspects of children's learning are seen as a necessary foundation for all learning. These are the aspects of the new paradigm that we will deal with here. To do this, we also need to have a basic view of humans as spiritual beings, which is described on this page.
